Specialist 1:1 tuition for children who need learning to look and feel different
I help children build confidence, develop independence and rediscover a love of learning.
Whether your child is struggling with confidence, has additional learning needs, is educated at home, or simply benefits from personalised support, I provide tailored one-to-one tuition designed around their individual needs.
With 16 years of classroom experience, I combine academic support with a nurturing, child-centred approach that helps learners feel understood, capable and successful.
I am based in Guildford and supporting families for in person 1:1 tutoring locally - Godalming, Woking, Cranleigh, Farnham and surrounding areas. Online tutoring also available.
Choosing the right tutor is an important decision
If you'd like to find out more about me, my experience and my approach to tutoring, look at my About page.
If you'd like to discuss your child's needs or find out whether I might be the right fit, I'd love to hear from you.
Does this sound like your child?
-
“I can't do it.”
-
“I'm rubbish at maths.”
-
“I hate school.”
-
Homework regularly ends in tears.
-
Getting out the door and to school is a struggle.
-
They seem capable, but their confidence has disappeared.
-
They need more time, a different explanation or someone who understands how they learn.
If any of this sounds familiar, you're not alone. Sometimes children don't need more pressure, they need the right approach, someone who understands them, and the confidence to try again.

Some children thrive in traditional classrooms.
Others need something different.
I specialise in supporting children who benefit from a more personalised approach to learning, including:
-
SEND learners
-
Home educated children
-
Children experiencing emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)

Learners who have lost confidence in education
-
Children working below age-related expectations
-
Pupils who need additional support in English, Phonics or Maths
My philosophy is simple:
"Meet children at their current stage of learning, regardless of age."
By building strong relationships and understanding how each child learns best, I create lessons that develop both academic skills and self-belief.
How It Works:
1. Initial Conversation & Assessment
After you've made contact via the website, we arrange a time to discuss your child, their needs, strengths and any concerns you may have. This can also be done via email if that's your preference.
2. Personalised Planning
I create a tailored approach based on your child's current stage of learning and individual goals, after the initial assessment session.
3. Ongoing Tuition
Sessions are designed to build skills, confidence and enjoyment while progressing at a pace that works for your child.
4. Regular Communication
You'll receive ongoing feedback and support so we can celebrate progress together.
Tuition is charged at £50 per hour - based on 1:1 sessions.
